How To Help

What You Can Do

We are funded and supported by the generosity of people, just like you, who want to help the underprivileged children and elderly in our community.

We need your help in the following ways:

Would you like to help keep hope alive in the heart of a child or an elderly person this holiday season? Please contact us starting in November.

In our community right now, there are people who are not expecting Christmas to be very bright. They may have fallen on hard times. They may be ill, alone or elderly. They may be unemployed, unable to work or unable to walk and therefore unable to provide Christmas for their children.

As many Alamance County residents have done in the past, you can make a difference this holiday season by sponsoring a child or elderly person through Christmas Cheer. Clubs, churches, businesses, office groups, families, extended families and individuals are invited to experience the joy of giving this Christmas.

Sponsor one or more children, which includes:

  • Provide toys for the child or children
  • If needed, provide groceries or a gift certificate to a local grocer for Christmas dinner
  • If possible and necessary, provide new winter clothing for the child or children

Sponsor an elderly person, which includes:

  • Provide Christmas dinner either in the form of groceries, a gift certificate to a local grocer or a cooked meal
  • Provide any other special request that is appropriate

Christmas Cheer offers many opportunities for volunteers to participate.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our office to see if your interests match our current needs.
